The Southeast Louisiana Chapter of NIGP was chartered on June 19, 1989 to promote the education and ongoing professional development of individuals involved in public procurement. Our goal is to provide our membership with education, research, technical assistance and networking opportunities while promoting excellence, enhancing effectiveness and increasing the public trust in the field public purchasing.

SELA NIGP is dedicated to advancing the professional goals of its members and other individuals who may be seeking a career in public procurement, thereby increasing their competency, enhancing their career opportunities and improving the quality of their professional life.

Through our education and training seminars and classes, we foster our goals and help prepare members for certification through the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP), internationally recognized as the leading not-for-profit educational and technical organization for public purchasing agencies.
